Jason Hiner is the Editor in Chief of TechRepublic, an online trade publication and community for IT professionals. He manages the TechRepublic editorial department, works on product strategy, and serves as a public face of the brand to users and marketers. Since he took leadership of TechRepublic Editorial in 2005, the site has tripled its monthly traffic and become one of the largest business technology sites in the world.
Jason also writes and speaks about the latest innovations and trends in the tech world, and evaluates how they will affect businesses and IT departments. His TechRepublic blog is called Tech Sanity Check and can be found at http://sanity.techrepublic.com.
Before he joined TechRepublic in 2000, Jason worked as an information systems manager in the health care industry, where he helped a progressive allergy and asthma care center to greatly increase patient care and profitability through the use of cutting edge technologies (at the time), including electronic medical records, electronic billing, e-mail groupware, and a patient Web site.
Jason has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his technical certifications include Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Cisco Certified Network Associate. He is a seven-time recipient of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for his contributions to serving online technical communities. He has also won multiple Azbee awards for excellence in B2B journalism.
