President
DataVision Computer Video

Albert Liniado is the President and co-founder of DataVision Computer Video and performs several vital functions for the company. Some of his responsibilities include managing and directing DataVision’s buying office, overseeing the production and design of the company’s monthly 32-page newspaper catalogs, and supervising the warehouse in the 5th Avenue retail location.

In 1988, Liniado started working for United Video and Computer, introducing computers for mail order sales via Computer Shopper magazine.  This experience served him well, because in 1991, he opened DataVision Computer Video with partner and brother-in-law James Garson.  Although DataVision started as a simple mail-order company, in 1993, the company opened its first retail location at 445  5th Avenue in the heart of midtown Manhattan.  In 1998, due to its great success, DataVision expanded to its 5th Avenue location to 35,000 square feet.  Today, DataVision holds the honor of being one of the top computer electronics retailers in New York City and on the Web.

DataVision has been recognized by several top industry publications for its retail excellence.  Some of these awards include Computer Retail Weekly’s VAR Award (1995), Computer Retail Weekly’s  Top 100 Retail Locations #6 (1997),  New York Magazine Editor’s Pick–Best Computer Superstore (2005), Dealer Scope’s Retail Excellence Award (2007), CE Pro’s Top 100 Custom Installers #28 (2008), and Dealer Scope’s Top 101 Retailers (2008-2010).  DataVision is also an authorized service center for such prestigious brands as Lenovo, Apple, Toshiba, HP, and Asus among others, and maintains an excellent relationship with each of its many business partners.

Albert Liniado, originally from Richmond, VA, now lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and three sons. In addition to his position at DataVision, Albert is also the President and Founder of
“The Stella Liniado Rainbow Foundation”, a non-profit organization which promotes
Cancer research and Bone Marrow Testing, this foundation honors the memory of his extraordinary daughter, Stella who passed away in January 2007 from cancer. (www.stellarainbowfoundation.org).

Testimonials

“Just a quick note of thanks for all your hard work on CEA Line Shows this week. For what Parrot was looking for this year in conjunction with the launch of the AR.Drone, the show was a good fit. We wanted to make sure to say thank you to you and your team for all of the hard work that went into the show.

— Tim Wieland, Airfoil Public Relations for Parrot

“Press has been great. Our PR firm has attributed over 22 million impressions online at various tech sites since the CEA Line Shows..â€

— Jono Pinksy, Viologht

” Our client ThinkEco did 82 press interviews and demos in two days! We can’t complain. The CEA Line Show in NYC is an excellent venue for start-ups like ThinkEco because it attracts top shelf press and business prospects who have more time to spend at the booth. People didn’t pass by, they all came over to talk. From start to finish, a professional, yet intimate, conference that netted big results –P.S. The food was excellent too!”

— Anne Steinbergm, Managing Director, Kitchen Public Relations for ThinkEco

“CEA Line Shows is a critical event for my teams at Engadget, Switched, TUAW, and Download Squad. In a tech editorial environment that is increasingly (and understandably) remote and mobile, in-person shows like these are a welcome rarity. Not only do they get my guys and girls out of their home offices, but they have also created innumerable hands-on and breaking stories chock-full of the video and images our readers have come to love and expect. The smaller size of CEA Line Shows means that my journalists can get their job done in a consumable environment as compared to the multi-day, exhausting conferences. Both have their place, but I am for one forever a fan of the smaller CEA Line Shows.â€

— Joshua Fruhlinger, Editorial Director, AOL Tech.

“All in all, the CEA Line Shows was a big success, especially for an initial effort. I urge other manufacturers of home-theater products to sign up for next year — you’ll save loads of money compared to putting on an individual line show, and you’ll save journalists loads of time, a commodity in very short supply these days. It’s a win-win in an otherwise lose-lose economy.â€
